Hyperliquid Group Requests CFTC to Allow Sustainable Energy Contracts
2026-08-27 02:56:29
According to CoinMeta, the Hyperliquid Policy Center and Trade [ XYZ ] have submitted an application to CFTC, requesting permission to list regulated sustainable contracts related to WTI crude oil, Brent crude oil, and Henry Hub natural gas. Based on the submitted documents, it is argued that once the cumulative trading volume of Hyperliquid exceeds $500 billion, U.S. regulatory authorities could incorporate energy sustainable contracts into the regulated market without waiting for new legislation. The application was submitted against the backdrop of CFTC review, calling for a legal pathway to be established for contracts related to West Texas Intermediate crude oil, Brent crude oil, and Henry Hub natural gas. Trade [ XYZ ] is the first major third-party market deployer on Hyperliquid and has been offering such products since October 2025.
