According to CoinMeta, Thinking Machines Lab, co-founder with Barret Zoph, resigned this year due to disagreements with CEO Mira Murati. After joining OpenAI, he has now changed employers again and joined Google as Vice President of Research. Zoph previously served as the Chief Technology Officer for Thinking Machines before returning to OpenAI to oversee the sales of artificial intelligence products to enterprises. A Google spokesperson stated, "We are delighted that Barret has rejoined Google and will bring his expertise in reinforcement learning and post-training to Gemini."
