Fidelity Timmer: Weak U.S. dollar may boost Bitcoin
2026-08-28 03:01:27
According to CoinMeta, the continuous weakness of the US dollar may become an important boost for Bitcoin. Bitcoin has rebounded above $80,000, a significant recovery from its July lows, mainly driven by demand for spot Bitcoin. Currently, the trading price of Bitcoin is around $80,357, up 2.4% in 24 hours, 10.6% in the past week, and 27.6% in the past month. Timmer points out that the measures taken by the Treasury Department last week to repurchase long-term bonds and issue more short-term bonds have led to a depreciation of the US dollar, while also driving up the prices of gold and Bitcoin. He believes that the market is beginning to anticipate potential risks driven by fiscal policies, and that the government's financing needs may increasingly limit monetary policy.
