The $300 million Stellar RWA market faces a $2 million DeFi gap
2026-08-28 03:48:44
According to CoinMeta, the market for tokenized real-world assets (RWA) of Stellar grew from approximately $785 million in January to over $3 billion in July. However, only just over $2 million entered the pool that accepts RWA. The latest report from Redstone indicates that the RWA market nearly quadrupled between January and July, driven mainly by tokenized money market funds, U.S. Treasury products, and corporate credit. The value of several individual products has reached levels typically associated with mature investment funds, rather than early-stage blockchain experiments. A report from Redstone states that the tokenized U.S. Treasury fund of Spiko has reached approximately $536 million, while USDY holds over $533 million in Stellar. USDY is a type of income asset supported by short-term U.S. Treasuries and bank demand deposits.
