According to CoinMeta, OpenAI is testing a continuous operation mode for Codex (persistent mode), which allows Codex to continue checking and handling subsequent tasks after completing the current one. Unlike the regular agent that stops after completing a task, Codex can continue running after a task is finished. The relevant code has already appeared in the public repository of Codex, but OpenAI indicates that there are no plans to launch it in the near future.
