According to CoinMeta, Grok has announced that it will deactivate AI partners after September 1st. Characters such as Ani will be migrated to the independent application Animates. Grok has already started to remind users via pop-up notifications, and Animates has also confirmed that SpacexAI is assisting with the migration process. Ani has been launched, and other characters will follow soon. The Animation Inc behind Animates was involved in the 3D character and animation production for Grok partners. This adjustment will split the 3D partner business within Grok and hand it over to the original collaborating team for continued operation. It is still unclear whether the chat records and long-term memories within Grok can be migrated, and the official has not yet announced a plan for user data migration.
