Bitcoin becomes active again after 15 years, with multiple wallets making transfers

According to CoinMeta, Bitcoin's dormant supply has shown new signs of activity after a 15-year lull. Based on data from Galaxy Research, a wallet that received 10 BTC on June 17, 2011, transferred these coins on August 29, 2026, with a value of approximately $777,000 at the time of transfer, representing a realized profit of about 503,364%. In addition, Galaxy also reported that 85 BTC received in December 2012 were transferred after about 13.6 years of inactivity, with a value of around $5.4 million at the time of transfer. On August 18, the research department of Galaxy reported two significant transactions; one involved 10.74 BTC and the other involved 212 BTC, which were transferred after 15.1 years and 14 years respectively, with values of $692,000 and $13.66 million at the time of transfer.
