According to CoinMeta, the next-generation 14A process of Intel is progressing faster than expected, but external customer and manufacturing profitability remain a greater challenge. Intel stated that the defect density of the 14A process is better than internal targets. CFO David Zinsner pointed out at a Deutsche Bank technology conference that the improvement in defect density with 14A is the best since the 22-nanometer process. Despite significant technological progress, the market's reaction has not been as favorable. Intel's stock price closed at $89.47 on Friday, a decrease of 2.85%. The company plans to start 14A trial production in the second half of 2027 and achieve mass production in 2028.
