According to CoinMeta, on August 31, 2026, the National Bureau of Statistics of China will release the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) for August at 9:30 a.m. on Monday (Beijing time). The market generally expects the official manufacturing PMI to reach 49.6, up from 49.2 in July, but still below the 50 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. The PMI data for July fell short of the expected 49.9 and decreased by 1.1 points from 50.3 in June, indicating weak demand faced by various enterprises and a continued sluggish real estate market. Nevertheless, the resilience of manufacturing and exports remains, and global demand for Chinese high-tech goods has increased due to the boom in infrastructure investment. If the PMI data reaches or exceeds the expected 49.6, it will support the view of stable factory activity; otherwise, it may trigger concerns about a slowdown in the Chinese economy.
