According to CoinMeta, Blockstream has released firmware 1.0.41 for Jade and confirmed that this firmware is not affected by the vulnerability in the Coldcard random number generator. The new firmware has undergone dozens of automated AI scans and manual reviews, with enhanced stack protection, updated dependencies, audited sensitive memory cleanup processes, and an upgraded operating environment. Blockstream stated that the Jade random number generation mechanism uses multiple entropy sources and mixes them through SHA-512. The team expects that firmware 1.0.42 will be released in a shorter development cycle.
