According to CoinMeta, a US venture capital firm Dimension recently visited China to research AI laboratories, investors, and entrepreneurs. Upon returning to the US, they wrote a five-page internal letter to LP. Dimension pointed out that China's open-weight model has entered the production chain of US AI companies. They emphasized that US laboratories first train cutting-edge models, Chinese laboratories then absorb these capabilities and release open-weight models, and finally, US application companies use these Chinese models for further training to develop products for sale to American enterprises. Dimension also mentioned that although the usage has increased, the revenue has not remained proportionally with the Chinese model companies, summarizing it as "China gets the workload from the West, but not the revenue."
