According to CoinMeta, Apple's new CEO John Ternus stated that the Vision Pro headset is too heavy and expensive to become a mass-market product, so the company has shifted its resources towards lighter-weight smart glasses. Apple has recently laid off employees related to Vision Pro, covering multiple areas including device security, audio, and Siri integration, with at least 60 employees being affected. Ternus has approved adjustments to the roadmap for head-mounted devices. Currently, the supply chain indicates that Apple will launch two types of smart glasses: one model without a display, which is planned for 2027, and another model with a display, expected to be released in 2029. Nevertheless, Vision Pro is still in progress, and a new version of Vision Pro codenamed N224 is expected to be launched by the end of 2028.
