2026-08-31 22:26:20
According to CoinMeta, the new chairman of the Federal Reserve, Kevin Warsh, delivered his first speech at the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium. He did not provide any clear forward guidance or reveal whether the Fed might raise interest rates in September. Although inflation is still above the Fed's target of 2%, many members of the policy-making committee tend to favor raising rates by the end of 2026. According to the CME FedWatch tool, the market expects a 43% probability that the Fed will maintain current interest rates and a 57% probability of a 25-basis-point rate hike. Warsh's silence has left the outcome of the September meeting full of uncertainty.
