2026-08-31 22:48:48
According to CoinMeta, the Cronos network resumed block production at 23:49 on August 31, 2026, with the first block being 90,896,189. Previously, due to the detection of a vulnerability in the Tectonic lending protocol, validators urgently paused the chain to prevent further losses. According to a report by security firm PeckShield, attackers stole approximately 74 million US dollars from Tectonic, but before the chain was paused, only about 6 million US dollars were successfully transferred to Ethereum, with the remaining approximately 60 million US dollars still trapped within the system. Crypto.com, one of the co-founders, stated that the Cronos team is working with the security team of Crypto.com to investigate this vulnerability and confirmed that Crypto.com applications and exchanges were not affected, ensuring the safety of users' funds.
