According to CoinMeta, as of August 25th, data from CFTC shows that the net short position of leveraged funds in CME Bitcoin futures is approximately 41,252 BTC, while the net long position in Coinbase Nano Bitcoin perpetual contracts is only about 151 BTC. The former is roughly 272 times larger than the latter. During the same period, the number of open positions in CME Bitcoin futures was about 118,267 BTC, which is about 51 times that of the related contracts in Coinbase (2,322 BTC). Compared to August 18th, the total net long positions of leveraged funds in CME standard and mini Bitcoin futures increased by another approximately 4,072 BTC in terms of short exposure. However, the above data does not reflect whether relevant institutions are hedging through other markets; therefore, it is not possible to determine the specific direction of future price movements based on this information.
