Peach Bitcoin Suspends the KYC custody mode and adjusts trading rules

According to CoinMeta, Wu said that Bitcoin trading platform Peach Bitcoin has announced that due to Swiss regulatory authorities re-evaluating their previously approved exemption from certain compliance requirements, the platform will temporarily stop using the custody model involving Peach signatures starting from September 1st, and switch to a single-signature custody model where only sellers sign. This change will last until the regulatory review reaches a final conclusion. Under the new rules, only users who have completed certain KYC or have reached a higher level of trading credibility will be able to place sell orders. Sellers who have not completed these requirements will also have a limit of one fiat transaction per order, with a maximum premium of 6%. The platform's dispute resolution function will still be available, and a 2% handling fee will continue to be charged. Peach stated that they were permitted to operate in an exempt market in 2022 under conditions such as setting daily and monthly trading limits, and passed independent audits from 2023 to 2025. It is currently uncertain whether they will be able to resume the original custody model in the future.
