According to CoinMeta, Telegram has today launched its native, non-hosted, peer-to-peer Gram wallet, and has renamed the “Telegram Wallet” trading center to “Walt.” This wallet allows users to conduct instant, fee-free peer-to-peer transactions in chats without the need for customer identity verification (KYC). The launch of the Gram wallet is divided into two phases; the initial phase has already been opened to some users, and the second phase will gradually be made available to over 1 billion users worldwide. Telegram CEO Pavel Durov’s “Make TON Great Again” ( MTONGA ) initiative aims to transform this network into the main application and financial layer of Telegram.
