Samsung's memory division allocates 70% of its production capacity to long-term orders

According to CoinMeta and Korean media reports, Samsung's memory business unit has allocated approximately 70% of its production capacity by 2031 to long-term contracts (long-term agreements, referred to as LTAs). The main contracting customers include large technology companies such as NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Google. With the construction boom of AI igniting demand for HBM, the supply of traditional DRAM has been squeezed, exacerbating the shortage of memory. Despite these large technology companies having signed contracts, they are still unable to obtain the full supply volume stipulated in the contracts due to the intense competition for purchases during HBM, which has led to a further surge in spot prices.
