According to CoinMeta, in August 2026, the crypto industry experienced 50 major hacking incidents, an increase of 67% from 30 in July. Despite the rise in the number of attacks, the total loss was approximately $136.3 million, which is a decrease of 49.5% compared to $270 million in July. Among them, the TectonicFi incident resulted in a loss of about $74 million, accounting for more than half of the total losses for that month. Although the amount of loss has decreased, the frequency of security incidents has significantly increased, indicating that the crypto security situation remains severe.
