According to CoinMeta, stablecoins in Argentina dominate crypto transactions denominated in pesos. Data from Artemis shows that stablecoins account for as high as 94% of the total volume of crypto transactions denominated in pesos, which is the highest proportion among major fiat currencies. This trend indicates that Argentina's crypto market is shifting towards tokens pegged to the US dollar. According to a report from a16z, about one-fifth of Argentines are now using cryptocurrencies, and the downloads of the top 15 crypto applications in Argentina increased by 93% in 2024 compared to the previous year. Despite Argentina's inflation gradually declining, the use of stablecoins continues to grow.
