According to CoinMeta, SB Energy, this artificial intelligence data center company supported by SoftBank, NVIDIA, and OpenAI has submitted an application for a Initial Public Offering (IPO) to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). As per the application filed on Tuesday, SB Energy stated that it is “highly dependent” on the performance of OpenAI both as a tenant and as an equity investor. Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, is also one of the company’s early individual investors. SB Energy incurred a net loss of approximately $3.2 billion in the first half of 2026, mainly due to “significant investments” in its data center strategy, although its data centers have not yet been put into operation. The company plans to list its shares on NASDAQ and NASDAQ Texas, with the stock code SBE, and is expected to raise between $5 billion and $7 billion.
