Bitwise CIO: Investing in both AI stocks and Bitcoin during a $40 trillion debt crisis
2026-09-02 00:46:27
According to CoinMeta, Bitwise's Chief Investment Officer, Matt Hougan, when discussing the nearly $40 trillion debt crisis in the United States, advised investors to buy both AI stocks and Bitcoin simultaneously to prepare for two possible economic scenarios. He pointed out that if the U.S. economy manages to achieve productivity growth through AI, the tech industry will see substantial profits; however, if the economy fails to accelerate its growth, the Treasury Department will have to devalue the debt through high inflation. In such a case, Bitcoin will become the primary tool for crisis hedging. Hougan emphasized that investors should hold both assets under these two scenarios to achieve the best returns.
