Chainlink Introduces U.S. Economic Data into 10 Blockchains
2026-09-02 02:08:26
According to CoinMeta, Chainlink has announced the launch of six official U.S. economic data sources on 10 public blockchain networks, covering Gross Domestic Product (GDP), inflation, and private domestic demand. The U.S. Department of Commerce is utilizing the oracle infrastructure provided by Chainlink to distribute macroeconomic statistical data generated by the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), enabling blockchain applications to access government data without the need for developers to manually input it with each release. The program includes real GDP, Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index (PCE), and real final sales to private domestic purchasers. Each indicator is provided through two data sources: one reports the current level, and the other shows quarterly changes calculated on an annualized basis. The data is initially available on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Botanix, Linea, Mantle, Optimism, Sonic, and zkSync. Chainlink indicates that functionality to support other networks can be added according to user demand. The data sources from Chainlink are updated monthly or quarterly, depending on the base data released by BEA.
