According to CoinMeta, Anthropic has released a new version of its artificial intelligence model, Fable 5.1, today. This new version is said to perform better in programming and scientific tasks and is also more cost-effective. In terms of programming, Fable 5.1 is adept at handling long-term, complex tasks, including software project development, code review, and scenarios that involve the entire application code. Its scientific capabilities have also been enhanced, covering experimental design, simulation of experimental results, as well as the processing of complex charts and data tables. The per-token pricing for enterprise users remains the same as that of Fable 5, but the cost of reusing information that has already been processed by the model has been reduced by 75%. This aspect can account for more than half of the token usage in long texts and complex tasks, and the price reduction is expected to significantly lower overall operating costs. In terms of security, Fable 5.1 has upgraded its classifier, allowing for more accurate identification of risky instructions and fewer misjudgments, making it more efficient for users in fields related to network security and biology. Additionally, Anthropic plans to allow corporate customers to store the data from their strongest models on their own cloud infrastructure, rather than on Fable's servers, while continuing to perform security checks.
