According to CoinMeta, in a statement released today by the chairman of G20, finance ministers and central bank governors from 20 of the largest economies acknowledged the potential of digital assets in supporting economic growth and pledged to create "clear pathways" for responsible innovation. The statement also called for improvements in cross-border payments, including extending the operating hours of systems used by banks and central banks to process large-value or time-sensitive payments, encouraging broader use of ISO 20022 (a globally standard message format used by banks), and simplifying the process of transmitting financial service data across borders. The group is also awaiting the results of research by the Financial Stability Board on the cross-border impact of global stablecoins.
