While secretly establishing a Chinese startup to replicate Google's AI infrastructure, he stole more than 2,000 pages of Google's most confidential AI chip blueprints. The judge dismissed all seven espionage charges, describing him as "disorganized and weak" rather than a spy. He still faces seven charges of trade secret theft, with each charge carrying a maximum sentence of 10 years.
