According to CoinMeta, UK bond yields have reached their highest point in 18 years, with the yield on benchmark 10-year UK government bonds at 5.268%. Former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss warned on September 2 that rising government debt and borrowing costs could force the UK to implement emergency spending cuts. Truss stated that global bond yields have soared due to the surge in debt, with the UK being one of the worst examples. Bitcoin traded near $76,500 on September 2 but fell by about 2% within 24 hours.
