2026-09-03 00:30:43
According to CoinMeta, world has open-sourced its zero-knowledge authentication tool provekit. This tool has previously been used in world and id, allowing users to generate zero-knowledge proofs locally on their phones or browsers. With this, users can prove their age, nationality, or possession of valid identification documents without disclosing any underlying personal information. world states that provekit does not rely on external servers to process sensitive data, supports noir, and can run on ordinary consumer-grade devices. The current provekit is already available for use in production environments, mainly for off-chain verification. provekit and v2 are still under development, with plans to further reduce the size of the proofs, generation time, and memory usage, as well as to improve the efficiency of on-chain verification.
