South Korean lawmaker: Cryptocurrency sales income amounted to 148.5 billion won in housing purchase declarations

According to CoinMeta, as reported by digital and asset, data obtained by the office of South Korean lawmaker Kim Jong-yang from the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs shows that since February 10 of this year, when the sale of cryptocurrencies became part of the declaration requirements for housing purchase funds, as of the end of July, a total of 1,688 housing purchase declarations have used proceeds from cryptocurrency sales, amounting to approximately 148.5 billion Korean won (about 100 million US dollars). Of this amount, about 133.2 billion Korean won (90%) was used for purchasing apartments. Among them, homebuyers in their 30s used the most funds from cryptocurrency sales, amounting to 81 billion Korean won, followed by those in their 40s with 50.9 billion Korean won.
