According to CoinMeta, and as reported by the Japanese newspaper Sankei Shimbun, the author of "Saint Seiya," Masami Kishida, has sued his former manager, their relatives, and acquaintances. He accuses them of misappropriating approximately 4.68 billion yen over a period of about six years through company accounts and by withholding copyright licensing fees. Some of this funds are said to have been used for investing in cryptocurrencies. The incident was uncovered during a tax investigation by the Tokyo National Tax Service in 2024, and about 1.8 billion yen has already been repaid. Masami Kishida is now seeking compensation of around 2.89 billion yen from the Tokyo District Court.
