According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Treasury completed a $12.5 billion cash management debt repurchase on September 3, which drove the price of Bitcoin above $80,000. This transaction targeted short-term nominal notes that were due from October 2026 to September 2028. Although the Treasury considers cash management repurchases as a debt management tool rather than a monetary stimulus, such operations can still affect the dynamics of short-term cash and note issuance. According to TradingView data, the trading price of Bitcoin was close to $81,457 on September 3.
