French MP French Hill: The Senate may have enough votes to pass the encryption bill
2026-09-04 23:35:12
According to CoinMeta, French member of parliament French Hill stated that the leader of the Senate majority party, John Thune, may have enough votes to pass the crypto bill during the procedural vote at 3 p.m. on September 15th. The House of Representatives passed the bill last summer with the support of 78 Democrats. Hill pointed out that members of the Senate Agriculture Committee and Banking Committee have been working to narrow the gap between the two parties over the past year. He emphasized that it is crucial to push for the passage of this bill to ensure that all crypto companies are under the comprehensive regulation of U.S. commodity, securities, and banking regulators, rather than operating in overseas jurisdictions with vague legal frameworks.
