Vitalik Buterin: Major Progress in Ethereum Transaction Format
2026-09-06 16:54:04
According to CoinMeta, co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated that recent research in areas such as account abstraction, state design, and password proof aggregation could lead to significant evolution in Ethereum transactions. He pointed out that clearly distinguishing between the “actions” and “dependencies” of a transaction could prompt Ethereum developers to adopt fundamentally different approaches to optimization. Buterin believes that many dependencies can be checked in parallel, and some dependencies can even be verified by the memory pool before the transaction reaches the block. Such “pure” dependencies could be checked once in the memory pool and would not need to be re-verified by each validator thereafter. Buterin suggests that a large number of these checks could eventually be replaced by a single STARK proof, which would verify that they have all been correctly executed.
