XRP Ledger fixes a major vulnerability from 2011 that could have allowed the generation of XRP out of thin air

According to CoinMeta, XRP Ledger has fixed a payment vulnerability that has existed for nearly 11 years. This vulnerability allowed attackers to bypass restrictions and generate XRP out of thin air, undermining the total cap mechanism of 100 billion XRP. Researchers Cayden Liao and Veria AI reported this vulnerability on September 22nd. Ripplex confirmed the vulnerability and released version 3.4.1 on September 25th to fix it. Currently, there is no evidence indicating that this vulnerability has been exploited.
