According to CoinMeta, as reported by Yonhap News, Lee Eui-yoon, the chairman of the Financial Services Commission of South Korea ( FSC ), stated during a parliamentary audit that regarding inquiries about the promotion of restrictions on the shareholding ratios of major shareholders in virtual asset exchanges, he clearly stated that "this is by no means under the instigation or instruction of any external parties." He pointed out that exchanges are transitioning from a registration system to a licensing system and need to possess corresponding levels of transparency and responsibility. At the same time, Lee Eui-yoon revealed that cross-departmental consultations regarding the "Digital Assets Basic Act" have entered the final stages, and the Financial Services Commission will accelerate legislative progress. The commission aims to build a robust and compliant crypto ecosystem while also taking into account the development of Korean won-stabilized coins and international regulatory trends.
