Security researchers warn: Fake Ledger phishing websites are appearing frequently
2026-10-10 23:38:34
According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Bitcoin News, security researcher Cyberscrilla has warned that a forged Ledger phishing website and malware are appearing high in the search results on Google, attempting to trick victims into entering a 24-digit mnemonic phrase. Search data from Google shows that this site has received over 1 million visits in the past 30 days. Previously, in September, cybersecurity organization Zscaler also disclosed a similar attack, where hackers redirected traffic to a fake "wallet verification" page by placing malicious Google ads that impersonated Ledger to steal credentials. Security experts remind that official hardware wallets will never request users to enter their mnemonic phrases on web pages.
