Arthur Hayes: FLOP may surpass Bitcoin, test network is about to go live
2026-10-12 17:36:57
CoinMeta data: Arthur Hayes indicates that the testnet of project FLOP will be launched within a few weeks. The 90-day trial period for this project is the only way to obtain the genesis airdrop, and miners, validators, and AI agents must secure their share. Although no specific launch date has been set for the testnet page of FLOP Labs, the start time will depend on the preparation status, and it may be extended if the team fails to meet the requirements. FLOP is a blockchain that allows AI agents to rent computing power; agents pay FLOP tokens when they need the model to answer requests or store data. Unlike Bitcoin miners, the useful inference proof models of FLOP provide miners with real AI task rewards. A reward of 96 FLOP tokens is generated per block per second, and this reward is halved every 730 days, similar to Bitcoin's halving cycle. The project is expected to have a supply of nearly 18.1 billion tokens within 10 years, with 24.3% of these tokens to be used for the airdrop. Hayes believes that the network value of FLOP could surpass that of Bitcoin, but currently, there is no model to support this claim.
