k33 Research: The US government transferred approximately 17,733 BTC to Coinbase Prime

CoinMeta data: Reports from k33 and research indicate that relevant U.S. government addresses transferred approximately 17,733 BTC to Coinbase Prime in early October, of which 12,267 were related to the Bitfinex hacking case. The holdings of BTC at these addresses, which have been marked by the U.S. government, have decreased from 324,527 to 306,795. If unmarked addresses suspected to be under government control are also taken into account, the total amount transferred could reach about 21,500 BTC. k33 believes that most of these transfers were likely due to custody adjustments rather than sales, as Coinbase Prime is a custody service provider for the U.S. Marshals Service, and the related assets of Bitfinex are still within the claims process. However, approximately 1,200 BTC related to the FTX and Hashflare cases may have been sold due to cash compensation arrangements for the victims.
