According to CoinMeta, a British cryptocurrency trader claimed to have been kidnapped at home by an intruder armed with a knife, resulting in the loss of nearly $800,000 in digital assets. The trader, who goes by the pseudonym “realist” on social media, stated that under the threat of a knife, the attacker destroyed his phone and forced him to transfer about $40,000 from a hot wallet and $720,000 in digital assets from a wallet with the address “Ledger”. Although he shared the wallet address “Solana” on a blockchain browser to substantiate his claims, the police have not yet confirmed this incident. This event has raised concerns about investor safety, highlighting that neither self-management nor encryption technology can completely prevent such violent crimes. Blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis estimates that in the first half of 2026, criminals stole over $30 million in assets through violent attacks, with home invasions accounting for 37% of the recorded incidents.
