According to CoinMeta, the French National Assembly is reviewing the 2027 budget proposal, which intends to include stablecoins under the MICA framework within the scope of a 31.4% capital gains tax. The French CEO Fran ç ois Volpoet warn that this measure may prompt traders to switch to DEFI platforms or self-hosted wallets. The parliamentary finance committee has also proposed requiring the declaration of self-hosted wallets holding more than 100,000 euros; violators will face fines of up to approximately $11,600, and the exit tax will be extended to cover crypto asset holdings worth over $900,000. These measures have not yet been officially legislated, and the parliament will vote on them on October 20th.
