Anthropic adds operation tracking to Claude API: It's possible to check where Agent is stuck and where Token is being consumed.

According to CoinMeta, Anthropic has launched a public beta test for the Claude platform OpenTelemetry tracking feature. Developers can now view how long each call took, where errors occurred, and how much token was consumed along the execution trace. This update enables native support for API, and Claude code already had similar monitoring capabilities before. Now, messages API as well as cloud-hosted agent can also directly send execution traces to platforms such as Grafana, Datadog, and Langfuse. Administrators only need to configure the receiving addresses in Claude console without having to modify each existing API call individually. By default, the system only exports metadata such as execution time, status, and token usage. Once full content is enabled, it will also record prompt words, model responses, and tool input/output, making it easier to review specific errors.
