CoinMeta data: White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett stated that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in September rose by 0.6%, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%, which is an acceleration from August's 3.4%. Gasoline prices increased by 9.1% within a month, accounting for more than half of that month's overall price increase, and the energy index rose by 5.2%, with a year-on-year increase of 20.4%. Hassett noted that despite the rising figures, food prices remained unchanged, grocery prices fell by 0.1%, and prescription drug prices dropped by 1.2%. Energy costs remain a major concern, with diesel prices rising by 11.9% in September, a year-on-year increase of 60.9%. The core CPI (excluding food and energy) rose by 0.3%, with a year-on-year increase of 2.6%. Consumers' average hourly real wage decreased by 0.5% compared to August, and by 0.7% year-on-year. The White House expects the energy shock to subside, but economists disagree on the speed at which this will occur.
