According to CoinMeta, El Niño has triggered heavy rainfall, resulting in floods in several countries in South America. Affected by the strong El Niño phenomenon, many countries in South America have recently experienced continuous heavy rains. The water levels of the Paraná River, Uruguay River, and Iguaçu River have been rising, causing floods in northeastern Argentina, southern Paraguay, and western Uruguay, leaving thousands of people displaced. Among them, Paraguay has been particularly hard hit. In the city of Ayolas, which borders Argentina, more than 2,000 people have been evacuated. Local officials stated that the water level of the Paraná River has reached its highest level in over 40 years and may continue to rise. The Brazilian meteorological department predicts that rainfall in southern Brazil will remain above normal levels in the coming period, and the water levels of the Paraná River, Uruguay River, and Iguaçu River are likely to remain high.
