According to CoinMeta, China reduced its holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds to $591 billion in August, the lowest level in 18 years, while foreign investors' holdings increased by $83.3 billion. Although Beijing's reduction in holdings sparked concerns about international demand, investors from Canada and the UK have been increasing their investments in U.S. Treasury bonds. According to U.S. fiscal data released on October 16, China's holdings of Treasury bonds decreased by $27.3 billion compared to July, indicating a long-term trend of reduction. Nevertheless, China remains the third-largest foreign holder of U.S. Treasury bonds, behind only Japan and the UK.
