According to CoinMeta, the prediction market trading platform under crypto.com and novig have filed a lawsuit in federal court against officials in Missouri, requesting that the state be prohibited from taking enforcement actions regarding sports event contracts. Previously, Missouri Attorney General Katherine Hanaway demanded that relevant platforms cease providing sports event contracts to residents of the state, or obtain a license and pay a 10% tax. crypto.com and novig argue that the Commodity Exchange Act grants CFTC exclusive jurisdiction, which takes precedence over state laws. novig has requested the court to issue a preliminary injunction during the litigation period to maintain the status quo.
