Qubic Network Attacked, 1,404 Wallets Compromised with Approximately 2.94 Trillion QU Stolen
2026-10-19 09:19:32
According to CoinMeta, on October 17th from 23:42 to October 18th at 01:26 (UTC), attackers took advantage of the insufficient randomness in some wallet seeds to invade 1,404 wallets and transfer approximately 2.94 trillion QU coins. The vulnerability stemmed from the seed generation mechanism, rather than the Qubic protocol itself. Qubic has suspended network transactions at block height 85,371,949; 87.1% of the stolen funds remain within the network and have been frozen, while 12.9% were transferred to MEXC. The relevant accounts have been frozen, and other exchanges have also paused Qubic withdrawals. The seed generation issue was fixed in version 4.26.4, and subsequent handling measures will be decided by the legal representatives of Computor according to the network rules.
