Meta Announces Stock Split, CEO Zuckerberg Maintains Control
2026-10-22 04:40:01
According to CoinMeta, as reported by Yahoo Finance, Meta is undergoing a stock split, but the new shares do not carry voting rights. Unlike traditional splits, Meta will provide each shareholder with one non-voting Class C share, effectively doubling the number of shares. The transaction is expected to begin at the end of January 2027. This structure allows Meta to raise funds for its artificial intelligence initiatives, while CEO Mark Zuckerberg retains control of the company. This announcement came alongside record third-quarter revenue of $64 billion, and Meta's stock price rose by more than 3% in after-hours trading.
