Upbit: Beware of False Information Pretending to Be from the Giwa Chain Project
2026-10-22 10:11:02
According to CoinMeta, a South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Upbit issued a statement stating that recently, criminals have impersonated the Giwa blockchain project, spreading false information regarding the mainnet launch and the issuance of digital assets, and attempting to induce users to transfer their assets. Upbit clarified that Giwa is an Ethereum Layer 2 network being developed by its parent company Dunamu. Currently, only the testnet is in operation, and the mainnet is still in the development and preparation phase; no official launch date has been announced yet. Upbit warned users to be cautious of any unconfirmed mainnet launches, token issuances, and investment information, and not to trust unofficial channels that request the purchase of digital assets, transfers, or wallet connections. The progress of the project should be based on the information published on the official Giwa website and official social media accounts.
