According to CoinMeta, Meta Platforms ( meta.o ) indicates that the company has agreed to spend approximately $825 billion in various leases and contracts in the future, many of which involve artificial intelligence computing power and infrastructure. The company stated in a document on Thursday that the value of operating and financial lease assets not yet reflected on the balance sheet is $355.7 billion, including leases for data centers and energy infrastructure starting from the remainder of this year until 2036. As of September 30, the company also has $454.5 billion in irrevocable short-term and long-term contracts, many of which are related to third-party cloud computing power, data center energy agreements, or its Reality Labs department's consumer hardware products. Meta also mentioned that it is obligated to purchase up to $14.7 billion in cloud computing power within five years, but this amount may decrease if the cloud service provider sells that portion of computing power to other customers.
