Singapore's core inflation rate slowed down unexpectedly in September
2026-10-23 13:13:28
CoinMeta data: According to figures released by the Singapore Statistic Agency, the core inflation rate in September (excluding housing and private transportation costs) rose by 2% year-on-year, lower than the 2.2% of the previous month and the 2.3% expected by analysts. The overall inflation rate was 2.2%, also below the 2.4% anticipated by analysts earlier on. As an economy that relies heavily on imports, Singapore has largely withstood the impact of rising global oil prices, and this data supports the decision made last week by the Monetary Authority of Singapore to maintain its policy unchanged.
